Wangi Wangi is situated 10kms south of Toronto on a peninsula with water on three sides!
Great in any weather, with a safe haven out of any wind, it has always been a favourite spot for boating, sailing and fishing. It’s now famous for sailing as the Olympic Gold medalists duo, Iain Jensen and Nathan Outteridge, gained most of their skills from sailing around the Wangi Wangi area.
With Sir William Dobell’s home and studio situated along the waterfront, Wangi Wangi is the heart of art of Lake Macquarie. Visit his historic home and learn about his life, paintings and prizes he was awarded leading to his Knighthood. Lots of artistic people live in the area and are inspired by the area’s natural beauty which encourages their creative spirit. Each year in May the “Dobell Art Festival” is held which attracts lots of people seeking art to adorn their homes. The town has a council owned caravan park on beautiful Wangi Point with ample RV parking, en-suite cabins, new “Safari Tents” and camp sites. There are also several “Bed and Breakfast” accommodation places in the area.
